Pune, February 21: Former Davis Cupper Nitten Kirrtane turned back the clock, but couldn't do the same with his fortunes and make it memorable losing the Super Singles final of the 59th Indian Club-Bahrain Financing Company Open Tennis Tournament recently.
In the final, Kirrtane was tamed by Fahad Al Saad of Saudi Arabia 5-7, 4-6.
The Super Singles event in the tournament had six invited Davis Cup players from Kuwait, Saudia Arabia, Bahrain and India wherein two groups of 3 players each with the top-two making the semis.
Group 'A' comprised of Nitten Kirrtane, Saleh Al Rajeh (Saudia Arabia), Khaled Al Tawadi (Bahrain), while Group 'B' had Fahad Al Saad (Saudia Arabia ), Abdul Rahamn Shahab (Bahrain), Faisal Solaiteen (Kuwait).
Kirrtane topped his group beating Saleh Al Rajeh 6-1, 6-2 and Khaled Al Tawadi 6-4, 6-7 (3-7), 6-4 respectively before getting the better of Abdul Rahman Shahab 6-3, 6-4 in the semis.
