Harishchandragad Fort is an ancient monument situated near Malshej Ghat, in Maharashtra. The fort is famous for its height, toughness and Konkan Kada .The fort has references in various Puranas, including Matsya Purana, Agni Purana and Skanda Purana.The beautiful temple of Harishchandra, housed inside the fort, has some readable sculptures. The temple has beautiful idols of Nandi and Shivling.Idols of Lord Vishnu are found in these caves.Harishchandragad has 3 peaks, namely: Rohidas, Taramati and Harishchandra. Taramati has some old caves which are a retreat for trekkers.
