Panhala - A Fortified Hillstation

In about two weeks time monsoons should be here, and i am eagerly waiting for the rains to be here. This summer has been particularly hot..every year we seem to say the same thing that it was so much better last year..anyways the point is that i am eagerly waiting for the rains. Pune has a different aura altogether once it starts raining. Though the incessant drizzle is now something like a folklore monsoons still bring the best out of Pune.

Monsoons last year was fun and while i wait for the rains i thought it would be a great idea to blog a few of our trips last year.

In the land of Hallis Gundis and Durgs!

One of our friends had done a mini road trip to Karnataka and came back with stories which made us resolve to do a road trip ourselves. Once we decided it was time to get our leaves done from office and we started working on a route to guide us through the trip. The google maps helped quite a lot but by the end of the trip we learnt a bitter lesson that we could trust the google maps for the directions but not for the time that it says that it would take and also not the distances from one place to another!

Holiday in Hampi

Hampi is one of the makor destinations in Karnataka destinations in Karnataka The world's largest open air museum - Hampi is a place where past comes alive. Hampi was the capital of Vijayanagar Empire and its ruins have stood the ravages of man and time and still evoke memories of regal splendor. Whispering winds, magnificent ruins and traces of a bygone era all linger fresh here.

Srivardhan - A beach rediscovered

Srivardhan Beach

Shrivardhan is a small beach with black sands on the Konkan coast of India. About 110 miles from the place i live; Pune, Maharashtra Shrivardhan is a secluded place that usually dont feature in the itinary of the weekend traveller. Maybe because its not very commercialized and there aren't many resorts or stay options on the beach apart from the one that we were headed to; Subhan beach resort. The road that we took from Pune was through the Tamhini ghats were we had some stunning vies of the valley.
